Jānis Daliņš was Latvian an athlete, walker. He won silver medal at the Summer Olympic Games in 50 km walk in 1932. The medal is the first Olympic medal of Latvia. Jānis also won European Championships in the same distance in 1934 and set 7 world records in several walking distances.
