The Swedish island is an ancient fortification on the banks of the Abula River, opposite the Trikāta castle mound. It is an artificial hill 3 m high, surrounded on all sides by river water, thus forming it as an island.
An old legend says that Swedish soldiers with hats brought sand to the castle mound, planted a linden tree with their roots up and said that if the linden tree rises, we will return. Another story shows that Jānis Bargais fired on Trikāta Castle from here.
Archaeological monument of local significance.
