On 1–2 August, Home Café Days will return to Valmiera region for the sixth year, inviting visitors to discover the unique experiences of 20 home cafés. Hosts will welcome guests with a wide selection of food and beverages, complemented by cultural events and entertainment.
This year’s Home Café Days will bring together both experienced hosts and newcomers opening their doors to visitors for the very first time. Home cafés will be located throughout the Valmiera region, including the towns of Valmiera, Rūjiena and Mazsalaca, as well as the parishes of the region. An interactive map featuring all participating home cafés, their menus and opening hours is available here: https://ej.uz/mājas_kafejnīcas_2026.
Visitors will find much more than well-loved dishes and traditional or internationally inspired recipes. The menus will also feature unique seasonal creations, specialties prepared from locally sourced ingredients and, in some cafés, a special compliment from the chef. Vegetarian options will also be available at several locations.
In addition to culinary experiences, guests will be able to enjoy a variety of activities organised by the hosts. These include exhibitions, guided walks and tours around the properties, orienteering games, creative workshops and live musical performances.
