In Valmiera
On Lāčplēsis Day, November 11, we invite young and old to join a torchlight procession commemorating the freedom fighters, remembering the important historical events of our country and being united on the path of light through the centre of Valmiera. At 17.30 in Valmiera St. Simon’s Church there will be an intercession for those who fell in the freedom fights. At 18.00 the torchlight procession will lead us from Valmiera Town Hall Square to the City Centre Cemetery. Around 18.30 there will be a memorial service at the City Centre Cemetery. We kindly invite you to bring along torches and candles.
On November 11 at 19.30 Valmiera Culture Centre will host Lāčplēsis Day concert “Rock. Love. Freedom.”.
From November 11 to 19, the light installation “Waving Sky” will be on display in Vecpuišu Park. Every evening from 18:00 to 23:00, the music of kokles and the motifs of the “Milky Way” will remind of what is most dear to us – home and freedom. The author of the installation is Ltd “Artistic”.
From November 17 to 20 from 16:00 to 21:00, the art project “Vibrations of the City” will be on view in an exhibition space specially arranged for this event at Georga Apiņa Street 12. It will feature the daily rhythm of the city of Valmiera in sound and photography.
On November 18 at 15.00, a festive concert programme will take place in Valmiera Culture Centre. Entrance is free of charge, an entrance card should be received in advance at Valmiera Culture Centre cash desk.
On November 20 at 16.00, the concert of songs by Ilmārs Ozoliņš “Sun Brought Gold Flowers” will take place in Valmiera Culture Centre.
In Bērzaine
On November 11 at 17.00, there will be a moment of remembrance in Bērzaine Meeting House, we kindly invite you to bring candles.
On November 17 at 18.00, the actor Ģirts Rāviņš will visit Bērzaine People’s House with his concert programme “Take My Easy Breath”.

On November 11 at 17.00, Brenguļi Library invites you to a creative workshop of making lanterns. It will be followed by the lighting of the bridge over the Abuls River and conversations by the fire.

On November 11 at 16.00, we invite you to create an outline of Latvia on Burtnieki Open Air Stage from candles.

On November 11 at 12:00, a memorial service will be held at the grave of Jānis Goltiņš, Cavalier of the Lāčplēsis War Order, in Dikļi Cemetery.
At 19:30 a concert “We were Born in November” will be held in Dikļi Culture Centre, celebrating the nine-year anniversary of the Women’s Choir “Lira” and the 11-year anniversary of Dikļi Wind Orchestra. The Men’s Choir “Imanta” of Valmiera Culture Centre will be joining.
On November 18 at 18.00, a festive concert will be held on the Song Festival Promenade. The Men’s Vocal Ensemble of Limbažu Municipality “Dziļezers” will perform, the leader Dace Robule.
In Ēvele
On November 11, by placing flowers and lighting candles, the cavaliers of the Lāčplēsis War Order who rest in Ēvele Cemetery will be commemorated. With the setting of dusk, a candle installation dedicated to Lāčplēsis Day will be created at the centre of Ēvele.
On November 12 at 13.00, the opening of Inese Bebre’s photo exhibition and a concert “With Handfuls of Star Dust” dedicated to the patriot week will take place in Ēvele Library. Musical performance by Raitis Lapacinskis.
On November 17 at 19.00, an event dedicated to Latvia’s birthday will be held at Ēvele People’s House. Musical performance by Mārcis Auziņš.
In Kauguri
On November 11 at 18.30, a torchlight procession will take place in Kauguri from J. Endzelīns Kauguri Elementary School to Kauguri Cemetery.
On November 17 at 19.00, a festive concert “Come Together, Sing, Dance” will be held in Kauguri Culture House. The amateur collectives of Kauguri Parish will perform: Middle-aged Folk Dance Group “Mūri“, Children’s Vocal Ensemble “Domino“, Amateur Theatre “Vīzija“, Folklore Ensemble “Stutes“. After the concert, there will be a festive ball with the band “Tauriņdeja“.
In Kocēni
In Kocēni on November 11 at 17.00, everyone is invited to join the Lāčplēsis Day torchlight procession. It will start at the building of Kocēni Administration and continue to the parterre of Kokmuiža Palace, where a solemn commemoration will take place. We kindly invite you to bring torches or candles.
On November 17 at 19.00, the Mixed Choir “Imera” and the Mixed Choir of Strenči Culture Centre “Rītu puse” invite to the festive concert “Crosses of Stars in the Sky” at Kocēni Culture House, the conductor Imants Točs. The concert will feature the most relevant and beautiful songs from the repertoire of the XXVII Latvian Nationwide Song Festival.
In Lode
On November 13 at 14.00, a festive concert “Dedication to Latvia…” will be held in Lode Parish Culture House.
In Naukšēni
On November 11 at 19.00, we invite you to a torchlight procession dedicated to Lāčplēsis Day from Naukšēni Culture House to the memorial stone and back. There will also be evening refreshments. On November 11, the outdoor exhibition “Latvia’s birthday” will be on display nearby Naukšēni People’s Museum.
On November 17 at 18.00, an amateur collectives’ concert dedicated to Latvia’s birthday will take place at Naukšēni Culture House.
On November 18 at 18.00, the creation of light patterns will take place at the border point of Unguriņi and at the Horse Post Station. We kindly invite you to bring candles.
In Matīši
On November 11 at 16.15, a torchlight procession will take place in Matīši, beginning in the yard of Matīši Elementary School.
On November 11 at 17.00, we invite you to a moment of remembrance in Matīši Cemetery at the Memorial Stela of the Cavaliers of the Lāčplēsis War Order. The event will be enriched with a musical programme by the Senior Men’s Choir of the Valmiera Culture Centre “Baltie bērzi“. At 18.00 a concert will take place at Matīši People’s House. Valmiera Culture Centre’s Women’s Choir “Jumara” and Senior Men’s Choir “Baltie bērzi” will perform.
On November 17 at 19.00, Latvia’s birthday concert “In the Light of Three Stars” will take place in Matīši People’s House. The artistic amateur collectives of Matīši People’s House, Miervaldis and Marija Jenči will participate.
In Mazsalaca
On November 11 at 17:30, we invite you to a torchlight procession dedicated to Lāčplēsis Day, which will start from Mazsalaca Culture Centre. At 18.00 a commemoration will be held in the Grove of Heroes who fell in the battles for the freedom of Latvia.

In Plāņi
On November 17 at 19:00, a concert “Caress Us, Sun, in Our Land…” dedicated to the day of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia will be held in Plāņi People’s House. Andris Baltacis and Aldis Kise will perform. A bus will run from Strenči Primary School square to the concert venue at 18.20.
In Rencēni
On November 11 at 16.00, we invite you to create Latvian strength symbols dedicated to Lāčplēsis Day from lit candles nearby Rencēni Culture House.
On November 19 at 13.00, Rencēni Parish Culture House will host a concert dedicated to Latvia’s birthday “I am Latvia!”. Musical performance by Rūta Dūduma and Jānis Ķirsis.
In Rūjiena
On November 11 at 18.00, starting at Rūjiena Secondary School, a torchlight procession dedicated to Lāčplēsis Day will take place. At 18:30 there will be ceremonial speeches at the monument “Tālavas taurētājs” (Trumpeter of Tālava) in the centre of Rūjiena. Agrita Gruzdiņa will enrich the event with musical performance.
On November 18 at 17.00, a festive concert will be held in Rūjiena Culture Centre.
In Seda
On November 18 at 17:00, a festive concert “Good Luck to You” will be held in Seda Culture House.
In Sēļi
On November 12 at 16:00, Folk Group “Sēlene” will perform at a sing-along concert “What Can You Do to the Cheerful” at Sēļi Manor House. Friend folk groups from Latvia and Estonia are invited.
On November 17 at 19.00, Valmiera Culture Centre’s Chamber Choir “Kaķi” will perform at Sēļi Manor House in the concert “Song of Flag”, the artistic director Inga Zirne.
In Strenči
On November 11 at 18.00, a ceremonial event dedicated to Lāčplēsis Day will take place in Strenči Elementary School square, followed by a torchlight procession to the resting place of the Cavalier of the Lāčplēsis War Order Kārlis Sloka in Strenči Cemetery. The Brass Band “Strenči” will perform at the elementary school square, a poetry composition will be performed by the students of Strenči Elementary School. In Strenči Cemetery, the path to the resting place of Kārlis Sloka will be lit with candles.
From November 11 to 18, a light installation in the colours of the Latvian flag will light up in the centre of Strenči. On November 18, we invite residents to fill the map of Latvia created in the city centre with their candles.
In Trikāta
We invite you to a torchlight procession on November 11 at 16.00. It will lead from Trikāta centre to Trikāta Cemetery. After the procession, the lighting of the “Path of Light” will take place at the Monument of King Tālivaldis.
On November 19 at 20.00, a festive concert will be held in Trikāta Culture House. Free entrance. After the concert – a ball with the band “Blēži” (entrance fee to the ball is 3 EUR).
In Vaidava
On November 17 at 21.00, Vaidava Culture and Crafts Centre will host a festive ball together with the band “Ballīšu Orķestris“. Table reservation by calling 27891681.
In Valmiera Parish
On November 19 from 20.00, a festive ball will take place in Valmiera Parish Culture House. The band “Galaktika” will take care of the cheerful mood at the ball.
