THE RŪJIENA EXHIBITION HALL AND JAPAN ROOM
In the exhibition hall you will meet a real patriot of Rūjiena, town guide and the manager of the hall, who will hospitably provide answers to all interesting questions about Rūjiena, will speak in the language of Rūjiena, exhibit the works of artists from or related Rūjiena, will share various facts about Rūjiena and its notable personalities and may even sing! In one of the rooms of the Exhibition Hall you can see portraits of famous film actors (109 in total) drawn by Jānis Vaivars with autographs. The Lielvārde belt made of wood by the students of Rūjiena Art School can also be seen here.
The head of the exhibition hall will also show a special Japan room, where the gifts of the twin city Higashikava are located. Here you can see gifts from Japanese friends – things needed for the tea ceremony, kimono, mochi equipment and other things related to Japan. You will be able to play the Japanese drums and try to play the Taisho Goto.
