The tourism offerings of Valmiera Region will be showcased at international exhibitions in the Netherlands and Finland

At the beginning of the year, the representatives of the Tourism Board of Valmiera Region will take part in two international tourism exhibitions in the Netherlands and Finland with the aim to popularize the tourism offerings of Valmiera Region and the Gauja National Park at the Latvian stand. The Valmiera Region will be represented in this stand both as a part of the Gauja National Park and as one of the stops on the tourist route “Via Hanseatica”.

From January 11th to the 15th, the tourism offerings of the Valmiera Region will be represented at the international tourism and leisure exhibition “Vakantiebeurs 2023” in Utrecht, the Netherlands. On Day 1 of the exhibition, industry professionals will be guest appearing and future cooperation contacts are established. “Vakantiebeurs” is one of the largest tourism exhibitions in Europe, of which the target audience and visitors are the end consumers.

Meanwhile, from January 19th to the 22nd, the tourism offerings of the Valmiera Region will be also represented at the Nordic tourism exhibition “MATKA Nordic Travel Fair” in the Finnish capital of Helsinki. “MATKA” is the largest tourism fair/exhibition in Northern Europe, which gathers together almost 1,000 travel organizers, tourism organizations, 1,050 media representatives, industry bloggers and approximately 80,300 visitors from more than 90 countries.

Tourism specialists from Valmiera, Cēsis, Sigulda region and “Enter Gauja” office will be part of the Latvian stand at the international tourism exhibitions in the Netherlands and Finland alongside other industry representatives. Additionally at the exhibition in Finland, the Latvian stand will also showcase the tourist route “Via Hanseatica” – the route goes through the counties of Valmiera, Cēsis, Sigulda, Limbaži, Saulkrasti, Smiltene and Valka.

The participation in tourism exhibitions and fairs is organized in cooperation with the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia and with the support of the European Regional Development Fund.
