RIVER GAUJA: STRENČI – VALMIERA (25 KM)

A classic river Gauja boating route, its most exciting section of the river will start from the Rīga – Valga railway bridge, where you will have to cross the Strenči rapids, which will continue to the Krāčupe estuary. Further on, the river banks become higher and more scenic. Behind the Mellupe estuary on the right bank will be the Sīmanēni sacred oak, where you can draw strength for further boating. It is recommended to end the route in Daliņi for boaters who do not feel safe going through the Kazu rapids in Valmiera. If you have the ability to boat through rapids and the desire for more extreme adventures, then you have to go along the Steep Banks of the river Gauja to the Valmiera boat dock.
