VALMIERA – CĒSIS (45 KM)

The 45 km long linear route stretches along the ancient valley of the river Gauja and connects two beautiful cities – Valmiera and Cēsis. You can start the route from Valmiera railway station or Cēsis railway station. A large part of the route leads along remote forest roads and trails, which are great places for observing the wildlife of the Gauja National Park, at the same time moving along them requires endurance. Along the way you can admire the largest white sandstone outcrop – Sietiņiezis, Ērgļu cliffs and other unique natural formations on the banks of the river Gauja.

Road surface: forest trails, gravel roads, asphalt.

Route marking: Wooden signs with a bicycle symbol, orange markings on the trees.
