RIVER SALACA: MAZSALACA – PUŅMUTES (14 KM)

The boating route winds through Skaņaiskalns Nature Park, revealing significant cliffs, caves and other natural objects – Dambjupīte caves, Vilkači pine surrounded by legends, Angel’s Cave, Neļķu cliffs, Skaņaiskalns cliff, where you can get ashore and try the echo cry against the cliff, Silmači outcrop and one of the largest Middle Devonian sandstone outcrops – Dauģēni cliffs.

In the spring, when the water level is high, the river is suitable for boaters who are doing it for the first time and want a peaceful trip. As the water level drops, boating will be more exciting, as you will have to avoid small rapids and maneuver between rocks from time to time.
